"To say I appreciate Lisa is an understatement. In August 2021, I felt an intense pain in my hip and passed out. For three months, I couldn’t walk. Labral tears in both hips. I used to be diligent in my daily practice, often doing it both day and night, but I had essentially abandoned hope to ever resume, as that’s what my physical therapist and doctor told me. Thanks to Lisa, I’m back! She always offers modifications and props that assist me. Her core challenge was essential in strengthening my muscles to alleviate using my hips for physical activity. I may not be able to practice as I used to, but she has been so gracious in assisting me in getting strong again. She’s helped me stretch my body and stretched me beyond my fears."

"Like a lot of people I let everything take precedence over taking care of my body. Then Covid came and disrupted any chance of hitting the gym. The good thing that came out of that was being pushed to virtual training, and yoga is well-suited to a daily online practice.

The attitude toward yoga itself has changed vastly and is increasingly accepted in the first responder community. I recently visited a top-of-the-field training facility to observe personnel who perform hostage rescue operations. They do all the traditional things you would expect hardcore operators to do — but they also do yoga. They do it for its mental benefits, to preserve their joints, and injury prevention. But you don’t have to be any kind of athlete or special ops person. Yoga is for everyone.
As far as Lisa herself, you won’t find a more committed instructor. You can trust her to care about your journey in life and how that journey informs your practice.
The plausible excuses are few, and the benefits are many! Give it a try."

"If you're a new mom who enjoys yoga, Lisa's offerings are exactly what you need! I've had the absolute pleasure to be able to do yoga with Lisa in person and online. I started taking her online baby/toddler yoga classes with my son when he was 3 months old and it was a joy just to be able to have that time to bond and see other moms doing the same. I then got to take the class in person once covid restrictions lessened and both I and my son loved it even more! "I have so many wonderful things to say about Connections Yoga and Lisa Wixted. Lisa is a kind, encouraging, and a powerful feminine force. She offers a great variety of classes for individuals, families, and kiddos.
I found Lisa during the pandemic when I was looking for a baby yoga class. She had put the course on pause virtually BUT began it again with my student interest. This is the beautiful thing about Lisa. She listens, responds, engages, and adapts. I have been enjoying Baby Toddler Me Yoga virtually for almost 6 months now and looking forward to finally attending it in-person! This class helped me establish a sense of community during a really challenging time in my life, and for this I will be forever grateful. Baby Toddler Me Yoga is the perfect, low-pressure course for any parent looking to try something new with their baby. Lisa is so flexible, and it didn’t matter if my baby fell asleep, needed a diaper change, or fussed throughout the lesson. It is also a great space to relate to other mom’s and babies.

Lisa’s communication skills are beyond wonderful. You can book easily through her online system that seamlessly sends reminder emails. Lisa will also remind me with an extra email as well (which as a new mom, I desperately need). She will also message if there is a particular workshop or class of interest. For me, I was thrilled to take her Diastasis Recti Workshop and recommend this to all mamas.

Connections Yoga has fun, affordable classes. I love that the workshops and classes are themed in a clever and fun way, such as Reptile Poses or Bird Poses. Many of the classes are inspired by nature. The yoga that involves children includes play, music, and singing. I recommend you look at her offerings; you won’t be disappointed. Lisa has something for everyone!

"I started my yoga practice during quarantine. I had been interested in yoga for quite some time but felt a bit intimidated by the idea of going to a studio as a beginner and could never seem to commit to a regular schedule of doing it by myself at home. The virtual classes have been an amazing bridge to build up my skills and confidence in the poses from the comfort of my own home, while still in a classroom setting over Zoom to create accountability and that sense of community with others. In addition to the physical benefits of staying active, yoga has helped to restore balance for my nervous system during these changing times. It's been like an anchor for grounding and staying connected with myself. "I've taken Lisa's Yin class regularly for the last couple of years, and I love it. It's a great way to stretch slowly and deeply, and it can be as gentle or as intense as you would like it to be. With deep, regular breathing and a ton of props, it's amazing to witness your body relax and sink slowly into a pose as your muscles relax and stretch.
Lisa's Slow Flow class is a wonderful and gentle class. She maintains a steady flow of poses always with tips on how to modify each pose should you need to. It's a great class for a beginner as well as for anyone more experienced in yoga."

"We started in the Baby Yoga and moved up to the Toddler Yoga this session. In the baby yoga you get to do more yoga because your baby is more stationary. You also get to incorporate your baby into the poses. My little one is on the young side so in toddler yoga I spent most of the time bringing her back to the yoga mat. Some of the older children actually do the yoga poses. Lisa uses sign throughout the class, and I like that. My little girl loves the socialization and activities from this class. I would definitely recommend it!"
